Auroras
Auroras are natural colored lights displays, which are usually observed in the night sky particularly in the polar zone. Auroras are caused by the collision charged particle from Earth’s magnetosphere with molecules of Earth’s upper atmosphere. That collision produce energy, which is transformed to be lights in the sky. It is so colorful, they are green, red, blue, and violet. Green and red are from the emission of atomic oxygen, meanwhile, blue and violet are produced from nitrogen ion.
Some scientist call auroras as “polar auroras”. In the north latitude, It is known as the Aurora Borealis, named after the Roman Goddess of dawn. Beside that, Aurora is the Greek name for north wind. The Aurora Borealis most often occurs from September to October and from March to April.
