Soft Contact Lenses


A soft contact lens is a lens which is usually placed on the eye’s cornea in order to replace the function of glasses or for cosmetic and therapeutic function. The idea of making soft contact lenses was introduced by Leonardo Da Vinci in 1508. But it is not until the year of 1887 these revolutionary lenses could be safely put inside human eyes. Since then, millions of people had tried to use soft contact lenses. Hundreds of researches have been conducted to improve the flexibility and safety of these lenses. In 1999 published a new generation of soft contact lenses with silicone hydrogels with high oxygen permeability which allowed us to use soft contact lenses in more comfortable way. It’s also invented soft contact lenses with variable colors and usage times. So, the invention of this type of lens had help people to enjoy a more comfortable way in using glasses.
